About me

I am a 41 year old father of one from Birmingham, England. I'm currently a duty manager to a busy retail store and a web developer. I have worked in retail for over 20 years but have always had an interest in computing.

I've recently acheived a BSc Computing and I.T. degree with the Open University. I studied part time whilst working my full-time retail job, which was tough at times, but definitely worth it to achieve my goals. I am now looking to change career (scary but exciting) and work as a web developer full-time.

Magic-Brain

Magic-Brain is a project from a Udemy course called 'The Complete Web Developer in 2020: Zero to Mastery' by Andrei Neagoie. Magic-Brain works by locating any face present in a user selected picture using an API from Clarifai.

During this project I used React.js, PostgreSQL, Node.js and REST API's.

YelpCamp

The YelpCamp app is a project from a Udemy course called 'The Web Developer Bootcamp' by Colt Steele. In YelpCamp you can create a profile, then create or view campgrounds that you like.

I used MongoDB, Node.js and express.js during the creation of this project.

This small project was created during the Udemy course called 'The Complete Web Developer in 2020: Zero to Mastery' by Andrei Neagoie. This project enables users to search for basic information on countries from around the world.

I used create-react-app to create this project.
